Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, our team supports nonprofit and business staff with website strategy, management and technical support services and training.  We service clients throughout the world. 

Kristin Floyd, President

Overseeing the development and growth of client websites

Kristin started Communication First in the early 90's, just as the Web was taking off.  It was an exciting time of development, but also a time when web sites appeared with an abundance of flashing graphics and cumbersome technical details. Kristin named her company Communication First to remind people that the Web is about communication, not just tricks in programming and design. Twenty years later, the goal she emphasized hasn't changed.  Kristin continues to manage and grow websites that speak to her client's audiences and to provide myriad ways to develop community and communication online.

Rebecca Thornburgh 

Providing administrative support 

Rebecca oversees administrative support to clients. With an MBA in marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Rebecca never forgets to stay in touch with the underlying goal of all our clients' websites -- reaching their audience and meeting their needs.    

Steve Beuret

Custom progamming and Drupal module support

Steve has been working with networks and the Web for more than 20 years.  He provides custom solutions for clients as needed, including developing custom modules for the Drupal content management system.

Margaret O. Kirk

Writing and editing articles on the Web

With over 20 years of experience as a journalist, author, corporate writer and editor, Margaret has appeared in leading newspapers, magazines and websites nationwide, including The New York Times, TIME,  Knowledge@Wharton and KidsHealth.org.  She's available to our clients to write or edit an article or improve copy on their sites. 

Tom Gillern

Assisting clients with multi-media and photography

Tom has worked as a  videographer and photographer for over 30 years. His clients have ranged from NBC News to the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology.  We work with him when we need  a video or photographic presence on our sites. His photos and videos tell the stories clients need to share.
