Drupal
This site was developed with the Drupal content management system. The flexibilty of this tool allows us to integrate a wide range of functionality all within one location. The program itself is "open source" which allows us to use it freely to develop what our clients need. Drupal can be uploaded to any server, but is available already installed with many hosting services. This means we can focus on the content and development of a site, and leave the server management to someone else. We love it.
Google Analytics
Knowing what people are doing on our sites is vital to regularly improving them. Google Analytics is a free service that tracks activities on any website. What pages do people visit most? Where do they come from? All of these questions are answered with this tool.
Constant Contact
Constant Contact is our e-newsletter host. e-Newlsetters are an important way to ensure people continue coming back to your site or visit your other web presence locations. Constant Contact offers a trial version to get people started with the tool and determine if it works for them. We work with clients to take full advantage of this service.
SurveyGizmo
SurveyGizmo is a survey and polling system that keeps clients in touch with their audiences. It admittedly is the more expensive of the survey tools (with SurveyMonkey being the cheapest and most popular) but we feel the integration it allows with a website is a vital part of its strength.
We offer support with the social network APIs that integrate a website with these platforms and can also help leverage these networks to draw visitors into a site.
Rackspace and Bluehost
Our hosting solutions vary according to the size of the site and the content management solution. When we are hosting simple Drupal sites, we use DrupalGardens that does all the hosting and upgrading for you. For more complex site, we work with service providers that offer programming and solutions. For people who are hosting their site independently, we recommend Bluehost for the smaller organizations since it offers a full range of tools at a very reasonable price and is quite reliable. For bigger organizations, we recommend Rackspace.
eNom
For domain name registration, we like the interface with enom. It's simple to use but offers all the functionality needed to manage domains. It is slightly more expensive than GoDaddy (a few dollars a year) but is worth it to avoid all the ads and numerous other services.
Dropbox
When we are sharing files with clients, we use Dropbox to make it as easy as possible to share large files and to collaborate on documents.
